Indigenous communities worldwide, such as the BaThwa of Ntabamnyama in South Africa, BaThwa of Rwanda, Mapuche of Chile, Haratin of Mauritania, and Degar Montagnards of Vietnam, persist as targets of injustice. Despite states agreeing to the Declaration following the World Conference, little progress has been made in implementing its provisions. This website endeavors to revive the sacred places of Indigenous people in Ntabamnyama. Disruption of ancestral burial grounds precipitates the decline of Indigenous peoples. The Ntabamnyama BaThwa utilized hill and mountain tops as eternal resting places for their loved ones, unaware that the summit of Ntabamnyama Mountain would become a battlefield and burial ground for the Anglo-Boer War. Today, the overlay of Anglo-Boer War graves atop the Ntabamnyama BaThwa remains unacceptable, haunting their community.
